Sepia watercolour, Arcadian landscape, Italy, rocky sea coast with ancient temple ruins, signed lower left, sheet approx. 43 x 58 cm, slight signs of age (including old mounting on the reverse), German painter and draftsman, studied at the AK Düsseldorf under W. Döringer , joined in 1920 with R. Geßner and Fritz Burmann to form the so-called Dreimannbunde in Düsseldorf, study trips to Vienna, Holland, Spain, Italy, Africa, Tyrol and Salzburg, since 1933 professor for monumental painting at the AK Düsseldorf, since 1936 head of the Master school in Kronenburg/Eifel
