The offer for the current auction is placed online about three weeks before the auction date. Grouped in the individual auction categories, you can see all the objects here with several photo views, the catalog description and the starting price. In addition, we cordially invite you to visit the preview, which begins one week before the auction date. During the preview you will have the opportunity to personally inspect all objects.
The descriptions contain general information about the condition. If you would like more detailed information or additional photos, send us an email or use the Heickmann app. We will then send you a status report on the desired object to your e-mail address as quickly as possible.
To bid in person at auction is the most coventional way of taking part. We are pleased to invite you to our saleroom on the day of the auction. You will be able to experience the fascinating atmosphere and excitement of a sale!
If you do not have the time to bid on the day of the auction, you can participate in writing. To do this, download our written bidding form, fill it out and send it to us at least 24 hours before the start of the auction. The amount you enter is your maximum bid. We only use your bid to the extent necessary to outbid other participants. It is even more convenient to submit a written bid online. To do this, it is necessary to register once on our homepage or in the Heickmann app. You have the option of putting any object on the watch list or preparing a bid immediately. Your preliminary bids in this way are not visible to us and are displayed via our live bidding system as required.
When submitting a bid online or using the bidding form, you can mark each item for telephone bidding. Telephone bids are accepted from a limit price of 120 euros. A representative of our house will call you during the ongoing auction in good time before the selected object is called and will enable you to bid by telephone. The Heickmann app also informs you via a push message shortly before your property is called up, so that you don't miss our call.
Our auction can be followed live on the day of the auction via our homepage and the Heickmann app. You have the opportunity to participate via the live bidding system as if you were sitting in the auction room. For this, a registration at the latest 24 hours before the auction is necessary for the first time. After activation, you then have the opportunity to bid for the current and all other auctions without having to register again. Please note that the necessary registration for data protection reasons is independent of the registration for the written preliminary bid and the newsletter function on our homepage. An additional fee of 3 percent plus statutory VAT will be charged on the surcharge for using the live bidding system. The live stream only starts a few minutes before the start of the auction.
The call begins with the limit stated in the catalogue. If there are several written preliminary bids, the call can also start with a higher price. Prices increase by EUR 5 from EUR 30, EUR 10 from EUR 50 and from EUR 200 in 10 percent increments.
The payment amount on your invoice consists of the hammer price, a premium of 23% and the applicable VAT. The purchase is subject to differential taxation, which means that VAT is only charged on the premium. For active use of the online service (live bidding), an additional fee of 3 percent plus statutory VAT will be charged. All types of written preliminary bids are excluded. Export deliveries to companies in EU member countries are exempt from VAT on presentation of the VAT ID number. In the case of export deliveries to third countries, the VAT will be reimbursed upon presentation of the proof of export.
If you bid in writing, i.e. did not participate in the auction room, online or on the phone, you will find out your bids immediately after the auction via the Heickmann app. We also send an email after the auction informing you of the hammer price for the items you have bid for in writing. This email is not an invoice.
After the auction, we will send you the invoice by post, or by email if you wish. Any shipping costs are included with the invoice and, if you want shipping, you can transfer them at the same time.
After the auction has ended, almost all objects that have not been knocked down can be purchased at the limit price plus buyer's premium. The unsold objects are marked on the homepage.
- in cash or by debit card at the auction house
- by bank transfer after receipt of invoice
- via our electronic payment system on the Heickmann app
You are welcome to come to our auction house for personal collection during our business hours. We ask that you make an appointment in advance. If you wish to have a package shipped, we will be happy to calculate the shipping costs for you. Shipping is usually via DHL or Hermes. In the case of furniture, large objects or particularly fragile works of art, we will obtain an offer from an art shipping company for you as far as possible.
We calculate the shipping costs individually according to the number and nature of the items you have purchased. Shipping is worldwide. If you transfer your auction invoice plus the shipping costs specified by us, we regard this as a shipping order and pack your auctioned goods. Please note that we pack the packages in the order in which payment is received and that there may be waiting times. The packaging is done in-house with the greatest possible care. Nevertheless, we would like to point out that the shipping risk is borne by the buyer.
Parcels are usually shipped via DHL or Hermes. If you wish, we will send you the tracking number by email. You will be automatically informed about the shipping status via the Heickmann app.
In the case of purchases with an invoice amount of more than 1,000 euros, which are shipped to third countries by parcel post, we are obliged to request a customs declaration at the expense of the buyer.
Our dedicated team always tries to be there for you. We are happy to answer your questions on the phone at 0371/517204 or by email. For photo requests, questions about shipping, billing and condition reports, please contact:
