Oil/canvas, portrait of a child, three-quarter view of a little girl in front of a side table with a fruit bowl and an illustrated book, unsigned, on the reverse an old exhibition sticker: "Kunstausstellung Kühl, Dresden" with reference to the artist and biographical data, old gold frame with surrounding acanthus leaf decor, approx. 71 x 57 cm, with frame approx. 81 x 67 cm, professor at the Royal. saxon Academy of Fine Arts in Dresden, studied at the Dresden Academy under Anton Graff, from 1787 he continued his training in GB Casanova's studio in Dresden, in 1801 he became a member of the Dresden Academy, in the following years he traveled to Berlin, Paris and Rome, paintings represented in museums in Dresden, Leipzig and Chemnitz
