Oil/cardboard, mascaron, based on a Roman fresco, representation of a satyr mask with goat horns and beard, eyes fixed on the viewer, framed behind glass in a passe-partout, sheet section approx. 25.5 x 18 cm, with frame approx. 43 x 32 cm, around 1910, child of German emigrants in the USA, returned to Germany in 1881, studied at the Munich Academy from 1890 and at the Dresden Art Academy from 1895
