Bronze, patinated in gold, Neapolitan dancer playing castanets with both hands raised, dressed in simple turned-up trousers and cap (so-called barretina), flat base plate with shell and fish relief, ibid. inscribed Duret f and foundry inscription Delafontaine, both arms with production-related Trace of a crack, partly stained, total height approx. 44 cm; Pupil of his father, from 1818 studies at the Paris Academy, 1824 stay at the Académie de France in Rome, 1831 first exhibition in the Paris Salon, 1852 professorship at the Paris Academy
