Manufacturer: Schwarzburger workshops for porcelain art, Unterweißbach, design by Gerhard Marcks 1907, model no. U 1004, "Seated Falcon" on a pedestal, naturalistic shape, colored underglaze painting, minor glaze defects, H approx. 24 cm, around 1910; Gerhard Marcks (1889-1981), sculptor and graphic artist, studied at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Berlin, from 1919 apprenticeship at the Bauhaus in Weimar, 1925-1933 apprenticeship at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Halle, exhibition ban under the National Socialists, from 1945 professor at the Landeskunstschule in Hamburg , 1950 at the Werkkunstschulen in Cologne, design of the back of the medals for the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, this "Falcon" is considered to be Marck's first sculptural work
