Oil/canvas, pair of nudes, signed lower left, female portrait on verso, slight signs of age, framing from the time, approx. 45 x 36 cm, with framing approx. 55 x 45 cm, around 1908, from 1902 studying at the Dresden Art Academy Richard Müller, Oskar Zwintscher and Gotthard Kuehl, 1907 co-founders of the Chemnitz artists' group. The early work, to which the present work also belongs, is still influenced by Art Nouveau. The beauty and power of the human body are frequent themes in his work.
