2 works on paper, 1 x pencil drawing, girl portrait with head supported, signed and dated (19)45 lower left, sheet approx. 14 x 10.5 cm, and pen drawing, draft for the FDGB, inscribed FDGB Kultur aus den Volk, signed and dated (19)46 in lead below, sheet 21 x 15 cm, each with signs of age, 1900 the family moved from the USA to Berlin, 1908-11 apprenticeship as a lithographer, friendship with Bruno Krauskopf, 1911-13 attended evening school at the Berlin Museum of Decorative Arts, there lessons with Emil Orlik, studio community with Wilhelm Kohlhoff, Ernst Fritsch and Willy Jaeckel, 1919-33 member of the Berlin Secession, after 1933 painting and exhibition ban, 1943 destruction of his studio, after 1945 turning to abstract painting
