Album of Camilla Güntz (1842 Dresden - 1861 ibid.), daughter of the well-known Dresden lawyer, city councilor and publisher Justus Friedrich Güntz (1801-1875), souvenir album equipped with various hand drawings, among others by the father JF Güntz (dated 1819 and 1820), from her friend Constanze Neubert and by Camilla Güntz himself (dated 1858 and 1859, including a depiction of the residential building at Schulgasse 2 in Dresden), plus 3 watercolored drawings by the well-known Dresden animal and landscape painter Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Wegener (1812 Dresden - 1879 Gruna), including a depiction of his two drawing students Camilla Güntz and Constanze Neubert in Schulgasse 2, also introduced various engravings (including chromolithographs, steel engravings and etchings) with city views, genre scenes, etc. and several wafer images, violet velvet cover with gold embossing, signs of age (including slightly damaged, some pages detached) , Album approx. 22 x 28 cm, late 1850s. Justus Friedrich Güntz, owner of the Dresdner Anzeiger and founder of the Güntz Foundation named after him, had two children. His daughter Camilla, who wrote this album, died at the age of 19, his son Justus Alfred died when he was still a toddler. In addition to the father's early drawings, the album reflects the drawing talent of his young daughter, who enjoyed lessons with Clausen Dahl's pupil and court painter Johann Friedrich Wilhelm Wegener.
