Etching on handmade paper, The silence of the morning-fresh views, the etching was part of the Altenbourg portfolio in Clara Mosch from 1982, here probably a printer's copy, unsigned, dry stamp lower right, image approx. 13.5 x 10 cm, sheet approx. 21.5 x 15.5, poet, painter and graphic artist, actually Gerhard Ströch, grew up in Altenburg in Thuringia, 1948-50 studied at the HS for architecture and fine arts in Weimar with Hans Hoffmann-Lederer and in the litho workshop of Hans Arloth, he draws his inspiration from events I experienced myself such as war experiences and from literature, art and intellectual history from ancient mythology to Pablo Picasso and Johannes Bobrowski, 1952 first solo exhibition in the Springer Gallery in West Berlin, supported in the GDR by Bernhard Heisig and Willi Sitte, 1977 Participated in documenta 6 in Kassel, from 1970 member of the GDR Academy of Arts and the Institute for Modern Art in Nuremberg
