AG, Selb-Ploessberg factory, designed by Theodor Kärner around 1926, model no. 261, full plastic molding of a lying fawn, naturalistic underglaze painting, signed on the underside, approx. 11 x 18 x 13 cm, 1936; Theodor Kärner (1864-1966), porcelain sculptor and animal sculptor, 1898-1903 trained as a modeller at Hutschenreuther, then studied at the Munich School of Applied Arts, 1905-18 worked as a designer at the Nymphenburger Manufaktur, 1918-1934 freelancer at Rosenthal in Selb especially in the 1930s, a large number of naturalistic animal figures, currently 88 models for Nymphenburg, 114 models for Rosenthal and 51 models for Allach are known
