Bronze, partly with a copper-green patina, dancer, standing woman with bare breast, height approx. 21 cm, probably cast by Hans Brockhage, another example in the Marianne Brandt House in Chemnitz; 1912-16 studies at the KHS Weimar, study trips to Norway and France, from 1924 renewed studies at the State Bauhaus in Weimar, from 1927 employee in the metal workshop of the Bauhaus, 1928/29 deputy head ibid., 1930-32 head of the design department of the metal goods factory Ruppelwerk Gotha, 1933 returned to Chemnitz, worked as a freelance artist, 1949-51 lecturer at the Dresden HS for applied arts, 1951-54 at the HS Berlin-Weißensee, as a painter mainly still life and landscape watercolors in a naturalistic direction
