Equestrian statue of August the Strong

Meissen manufactory, swords underglaze blue, 1st choice, model by JJ Kaendler 1753, model no. 448, figure of the Saxon Elector and King of Poland-Lithuania August II, called the Strong (1670-1733), mounted on an elongated profile base, based on the equestrian statue in Dresden (the so-called Golden Rider) by Jean Joseph Vinache from 1736, the Ruler depicted as a Roman Caesar in armor on a rising Lippizaner stallion, finely crafted details, the base with the applied coats of arms of Poland-Lithuania and Saxony and a crown, reins and bridle made of decorated brass bands, painted in colors and richly gilded, restored, the support underneath Professionally added to the horse's body, approx. 53 x 52 x 30 cm, pommel swords mid-19th century to 1923
