Graphite on paper, depiction of the prophet Moses, half-length figure in front of a gloriole, monogrammed on the right edge, selectively mounted behind passe-partout, slight signs of age (including traces of mounting on the back), sheet approx. 19 x 12.5 cm, with passe-partout approx. 31 x 44 cm , studied at the Dresden Academy, belonged to the school of the Nazarenes around Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld, from 1837 drawing teacher and from 1846 professor in Dresden, friendship with Ludwig Richter, especially religious motifs (amongst others altarpieces), also frescoes among others to Goethe subjects
