Oil/canvas, still life with a jug, fruit and books, signed lower right, approx. 39 x 51 cm, with frame approx. 47.5 x 59 cm, painter, draftsman and graphic artist, 1905-07 training as a drawing teacher at the Königl . Art school in Berlin, student of Lovis Corinth, practiced the profession at a Berlin high school, from 1916 until its dissolution in 1935 member of the November Group, at the time of National Socialism his works were considered degenerate, active in Dresden since 1940, 1943 expulsion from Dresden leaving behind almost all of his work, after the death of his wife he moved to Lörrach in 1945, provenance: Giorgio Silzer collection
