Pen and ink drawing and brush, winged female nude over a crowd, probably illustration for an art fairy tale by ETA Hoffmann, signed in ink on the lower edge, signs of age, sheet approx. 20.5 x 12 cm, 1908-15 studied at the Dresden Art Academy under Carl Bantzer, Oskar Zwintscher and Gotthardt Kuehl, 1914 first exhibition with Emil Richter in Dresden, since 1915 member of the Dresden artists' association, 1921 purchase of a house in Dresden-Loschwitz (where today the Josef Hegenbarth archive is located), 1924-1936 freelancer for the magazine Die Jugend, 1925-44 worked for Simplicissimus, from 1926 member of the Vienna Secession, from 1929 member of the Prague Secession, after World War II employee of the magazines Ulenspiegel and Der Simpl, from 1947 professor at the HBK Dresden
