Sculpture, oak wood, cubic puzzle, block of wood processed with various tools, set in black pigment, monogrammed, H approx. 33 cm, sculptor and designer, after military service from 1945 apprenticeship as a wood sculptor and turner, then from 1947-52 studies at the HBK Dresden, among others, with Mart Stam, development of the swing carriage (1957 award), 1950/51 student in the seminar of Marianne Brandt, with whom he was friends until her death, 1967-77 lecturer at the HS Burg Giebichenstein in Halle, from 1968 first sculptural works in wood and concrete, 1971 first exhibition in the Grassi Museum in Leipzig, co-founder of the Chemnitz gallery Oben, 1977 appointed professor at the FS for Applied Arts Schneeberg, from 1985 free figurative works and montages, from 2000 publication of several books, among others about Marianne Brandt , the art of carving in the Ore Mountains and his own work, numerous exhibitions, including 2015/16 in the German Bundestag.
