oil/canvas on cardboard, young lady doing handwork in the garden, monogrammed lower left and dated 1906, frame renewed, approx. 36 x 31 cm, with frame approx. 50 x 44 cm, one of the few early paintings by the artist, provenance: as a gift from direct possession of the artist, 1898-1904 studied at the painting school for women in Dresden, among others with Robert Sterl, Wilhelm Georg Ritter, Anton Pepino and Wilhelm Claudius, since 1884 first exhibitions in Chemnitz, sponsored by the doctor and collector A. Thiele, from 1907 Member of the Chemnitz artists' group, 1908 student at the painting school in Munich with Albert Weisgerber, in the following years head of her own painting school, after 1933 classification of her works as degenerate art, despite being almost completely blind, active as an artist until the end of her life
