Gouache on cardboard, piece of forest ground, monogrammed K lower right, framed behind glass in a passe-partout, image section approx. 27.5 x 19.5 cm, with frame approx. 52 x 41 cm, after an apprenticeship as a pattern designer, Kriegel began at the Dresden Art Academy Studied with Ferdinand Dorsch, Otto Gussmann and Otto Hettner, among others, he was a master student of Oskar Kokoschka, early solo exhibitions and was awarded honors and prizes, in Germany his work was considered degenerate in the 1930s/40s, today his characteristic works can be found in many major museums and private collections
