Reign of Johann Georg I. (1615-1656), after Sebastian Dadler, on the occasion of the Leipzig theological congress in 1629, D approx. 71 mm, approx. 88.36 g, vs. the personifications of patience and hope pull a triumphal chariot to the left, in which the constancy with a pillar sits, rs. the personified religion kneels with a chalice in the right hand on the base of a pillar statue of peace, above it in clouds surrounded by rays the eye of God, in the background the city of Leipzig, Elector Johann Georg I called his theologians in Leipzig to a convention in November 1628 . They were intended to refute the Catholics who claimed that the Protestants had violated the Augsburg Religious Peace of 1555. The script written for this purpose was, like the Augsburg Confession, referred to as the apple of the evangelical eye - on the medal the eye on the pillar (cf.
