U 144G, parrot sitting on a slender base, gnawing on a corn cob, colored underglaze painting, the base ivory-colored, the base artist's monogram A.St., 1 reed leaf damaged, otherwise beautifully preserved, H approx. 35.5 cm, around 1930, Arthur Storch (1870-1947), son of a porcelain modeler from Volkstedt, 1886-88 modeler apprenticeship at the Aeltesten Volkstedter Porzellanmanufaktur, 1894-1902 studied at the Munich Art Academy, then worked as a freelance sculptor in Munich and Hamburg, various large and building plastic commissions from 1917 again based in his hometown of Volkstedt, mainly created expressive animal models for the Schwarzburg workshops
