Charcoal drawing, heightened with white, portrait of a bearded man, head with shoulder approach, impressive portrait, with preliminary drawing on the left margin, signed and dated (18)86 on the left shoulder, mounted behind passe-partout, sheet approx. 50 x 40 cm, with passe-partout approx .70x60 cm. The artist studied at the Berlin Academy from 1884, so the drawing dates from his student days there.
