Meissen, pressed crossed swords mark in a triangle, 1 transverse cut, The morning from a series of times of the day, bisque, form no. J 187, two fingers of the main figure damaged, fire crack filled on the back, signs of age, H approx. 45 cm, second half of the 19th century. The group of the four times of day can be found at the entrance to the Brühlsche Terrasse (Dresden) from the Schlossplatz. Viewing the group from Castle Square, morning is top left, midday is top right, evening is bottom left, and night is bottom right. They were completed by Johannes Schilling in 1868 and received first prize at the 1869 Vienna Art Exhibition. The figures were originally made of sandstone, which, however, had weathered too much, so that in 1908 they were replaced by bronze casts that were true to the original. The originals are now on the island of the Chemnitz Castle Pond.
