Museum copy based on the medieval original from the Musée de Cluny (Musée national du Moyen Âge) in Paris, rs. bordered with matt green linen fabric, approx. 83 x 116 cm, for hanging on the wall, all in all good condition. The six-piece millefleurs tapestry "The Lady with the Unicorn" (in French "La Dame à la licorne") is considered the main attraction of the Paris Museum of the Middle Ages. The tapestries were created at the end of the 15th century in the southern Netherlands, probably in Brussels or Tournai, and symbolically show the five senses. The present tapestry completes the series in that the lady depicted places her necklace in a jewelry box, which is interpreted as a renunciation of the sensual stimuli
