Oil/hardboard, "The Glasses", portrait of a man, depiction of the head in expressive features with earthy coloring, rs. Inscribed "with glasses II" and "The glasses (2)", signed and dated (19)84, framed in artist's frame, approx. 50 x 40 cm, with frame approx. 52 x 42.5 cm, 1941 student of Alfred Particles at the Art Academy in Königsberg, 1946-50 studied at the Weimar HS, influenced by Max Pechstein, Erich Heckel and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, among others, from 1950 master student with Otto Herbig, then lecturer for color design and life drawing at the Weimar HS, from 1954 works as a freelance painter and graphic artist in his hometown of Gersdorf, numerous honors, prizes and exhibitions in Saxony and beyond
