Bronze, "Kleine Hockende", monogrammed "RL" on the side, dated (19)69, abstract depiction of a seated woman with a cloak, height approx. 16 cm, cf. Lit.: "R. Leibnitz, retrospective, Kunsthalle Gießen 1992", P. 11, Ruth Leibnitz: 1945-50 studied music in Dresden and Leipzig, 1950-57 worked as an opera singer, 1958-60 trained as a sculptor with Irmgard Biernath, 1968 founding member of "Group 9", numerous works in museums and in public spaces in Bonn, Hamburg, Mannheim and Chemnitz, among others, in the city library, the industrial museum and in the entrance to the Kreuzkirche. 2002 Entry in the Golden Book of the City of Chemnitz, the Ruth Leibnitz Prize for sculptural work donated by her is awarded every two years awarded
