Woodcut in black and green on Hahnemühle, "Alter Clown", signature lower right, sheet approx. 52 x 37 cm (image approx. 35 x 24.5 cm), probably around 1980, from 1941 a student of Alfred Particles at the Kunstakademie in Königsberg , 1946-50 studied at the Weimar HS, influenced by Max Pechstein, Erich Heckel and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, among others, from 1950 master student with Professor Otto Herbig, then lecturer for color design and life drawing at the Weimar HS, from 1954 worked as a freelance painter and Graphic artist in his hometown of Gersdorf, numerous honors, prizes and exhibitions in Saxony and beyond
