Watercolour, wintry landscape with trees in front of an illuminated settlement, in shades of blue and yellow, signed and dated by hand lower left (probably 1991), behind passe-partout and glass in the frame, signs of age (e.g. edges with creases and some with minor damage), Leaf section approx. 62 x 47 cm, with frame approx. 76 x 61 cm, 1941 student of Alfred Particles at the Art Academy in Königsberg, 1946-50 studies at the Weimar HS, influenced by Max Pechstein, Erich Heckel and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, among others, from 1950 master student with Otto Herbig, then lecturer for color design and life drawing at the Weimar HS, from 1954 he worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in his home town of Gersdorf, numerous honors, prizes and exhibitions in Saxony and beyond
