Watercolor pencil drawing, female nude, prostitute, lying down smoking a cigarette, illegibly inscribed lower left, dated Herbst 1944 lower right, also with a dedication in lead by the artist on the lower edge "To the memory of April 11 in Kriebstein/Saxony " and signed, framed behind glass, in a passe-partout, signs of age (among other things browned and foxed), sheet approx. 21.5 x 17.5 cm, with frame approx. 39 x 30.5 cm, 1909 apprenticeship as a decorative painter, a short time later he went to the Royal Drawing School in Dresden, became acquainted with Otto Dix, studied glass painting with Josef Goller at the Dresden School of Applied Arts from 1911-15, from 1919 master student at the Dresden Academy with Robert Serl, 1919/1920 worked with the Dadaists, became friends with George Grosz and John Heartfield, 1924 member of the Dresden Secession, after 1945-60 according to him active at the faculty for workers and farmers at the Dresden Art Academy
