Watercolour, verso titled "Harlequin/Columbine" in lead, large-format depiction, signed lower left, additionally signed and dated (19)88 on verso, behind passe-partout, slight signs of age (among other things, some min. creases), sheet approx. 75 x 49 cm , with passe-partout approx. 89 x 70 cm, 1941 student of Alfred Particles at the Art Academy in Königsberg, 1946-50 studies at the Weimar HS, influenced by Max Pechstein, Erich Heckel and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, among others, from 1950 master student with Otto Herbig, then lecturer for color design and life drawing at the Weimar HS, from 1954 he worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in his hometown of Gersdorf, numerous honors, prizes and exhibitions in Saxony and beyond
