Z 113, restored, H approx. 23.5 cm, pommel swords from around/after 1909. Rudolf Hentschel (1869 Cölln - 1951 Meissen) studied at the Munich Art Academy and at the Académie Julian in Paris. Over the long period from 1895-1933 he worked as a painter, designer of forms and decorations and as a teacher at the Meissner Manufactory. Together with his younger brother Konrad, he created important Art Nouveau models for the Meissner manufactory. In addition to famous crockery shapes and decorations, R. Hentschel also made a number of delicately designed Art Nouveau female figures.
