Meissen Manufactory, swords underglaze blue, 1st choice, "Two Children", model by Otto König 1863-66, boy and girl holding a cornucopia from which water flows, discreetly polychrome painted, eight-sided base decorated with gold, model no. G 129, restored, H approx. 19.5 cm, pommel swords, model from the original period around/after 1866. The sculptor Otto König (1838 Meissen - 1920 Vienna) studied under Ernst Julius Hähnel at the Dresden Art Academy. In 1868 he was appointed professor at the Kunstgewerbeschule in Vienna. In the 1860s, the Meissner manufactory acquired three figurine models from his hand entitled "Two Children", "Genoveva" and "Amor und Nixe".
