Oil/canvas, view of Dresden, view over the Elbe to the Augustusburg Bridge and Brühlsche Terrasse, extremely lively summer scene with paddle steamers and other Elbe ships, signed and dated 1939 lower left, verso sticker "Art Exhibition Gerstenberger Chemnitz", wide original gold frame, approx. 51 x 71 cm, with frame approx. 80 x 98 cm, F. Beckert attended the Leipzig art academies from 1894-96 and the Dresden academy from 1896-99, a student of Friedrich Preller the Elder. J. uva G. Kuehls, 1902 founding of the artist group "Die Elbier", 1908 Beckert habilitated in architectural painting at the Technical University of Dresden, appointed full professor, most important Dresden vedute painter of the early 20th century.
