Oil on canvas, "Burg Scharfenstein", view over the castle to the Ore Mountains, signed and dated lower right, wide original frame, approx. 55 x 70 cm, with frame approx. 70 x 85 cm, German painter, draftsman and graphic artist, who studied at the Dresden Art Academy with Oskar Zwintscher and Gotthardt Kuehl. The period of his stays on the Curonian Spit, where he found his characteristic post-impressionist handwriting, is regarded as the most fruitful creative phase. Almost his entire life's work was lost in 1945 in bombing raids.
