Oil/hardboard, "work break", expressive and colorful representation of a seated worker with a cigarette, signed, titled and numbered on the reverse, wooden frame with shadow gap, approx. 74 x 55 cm, with frame approx. 81 x 62 cm, German late expressionist, mainly in Glauchau, studied in the 1930s at the HGB in Leipzig with H. Dörffel, H. Soltmann and A. Drescher, from 1948 painting oriented towards the French Fauves and German Expressionism (in the coinage of the "Blue Rider" and the " Bridge"), exhibitions (museums): Chemnitz, Rostock, Glauchau and Zwickau, galleries and art associations in Berlin, Erfurt, Wiesbaden, Münster and Heidelberg, among others
