Oil/canvas, forest landscape with travelers, unsigned, typical work by the well-known Dutch artist in terms of quality, composition and painting technique, corrugated gold framing (partially corrected) added later, canvas slightly old rest., approx. 45 x 62 cm, with framing approx .62x78 cm. Marinus Adrianus Koekkoek, who came from an important Dutch family of painters, studied 1837-39 with his brother Barend Cornelis Koekkoek in Kleve, who had a lasting influence on him. From 1839 he lived in Hilversum and Amsterdam, where he created an important oeuvre of landscape paintings.
