oil/canvas mounted on cardboard, still life of flowers, opulent bouquet in a clay vase, monogrammed lower right, framed, approx. 29 x 21 cm, with frame approx. 38 x 31 cm, Erich Theodor Holtz studied at the Dresden School of Applied Arts and at the Art Academy in Berlin. From 1917-24 he lived in Prerow on the Darß and worked there together with the painter and graphic artist Theo Schultze-Jasmer. In 1924 he moved to Wustrow on Fischland and lived there together with his wife Hedwig Holtz-Sommer from 1934. After the Second World War, in addition to his artistic work, he was involved in cultural policy as head of the "Künstlerkreis Fischland" and as a member of the Ahrenshoop artists' collective.
