Q 195, reed slightly damaged, old restored mermaid tail, H approx. 31 cm, molding from the original period around/after 1897. Ernst Herter (1846-1917) studied sculpture at the Berlin Academy, where he taught from 1895 . He created numerous statues, portrait busts and equestrian statues for public spaces. In 1897, the Meissner Manufactory acquired the "Nixenfang" model from him, which is based on the 1896 monument "The Rare Fang" erected in Berlin's Victoria Park.
