Meissen manufactory, swords underglaze blue, first choice, model by Max Bochmann 1912-13, half-nude lady with wine garland in an animated pose, accompanied by a jumping billy goat and a faun with panpipes, flat oval base with fine relief, polychrome on-glaze painting, gold decoration, model no. C 223, glaze slightly damaged in 2 places, otherwise unrestored original condition, H approx. 26.5 cm, molding from the original period around/after 1913. Max Bochmann (1874-1942) studied at the Dresden School of Textile Fabrics until 1929 worked as a modeller at the Meissner manufactory. He created around 40 art nouveau and art deco animal, child and genre figures for the manufactory.
