Oil/canvas, self-portrait, verso inscribed "Bildnis", monogrammed lower left and dated 1960, plain wooden strip, approx. 80 x 60 cm, with frame approx. 83 x 63 cm, the artist received drawing lessons from Simonson Castelli and Georg Oehme in Dresden, 1926-30 studied at the Dresden Academy of Art with Richard Müller, Hermann Dittrich, Ferdinand Dorsch and Max Feldbauer, 1945 loss of a large part of the work through war destruction, committed to Dresden late impressionism
