Deierling, Heinrich Harry (1894 Philadelphia - 1989 Berlin)
Lot 1813
limit € 190
Watercolor on cardboard, piece of forest, signed and dated 1925 lower left, sheet size approx. 42.5 cm x 31.5 cm, Heinrich Harry Deierling is one of the so-called forgotten Expressionists, a comprehensive assessment of his work is still pending and is made more difficult by the loss many works in World War II. After Cubist and abstract tendencies, the artist returned to figurative forms between Expressionism and New Objectivity in the mid-1920s. His work thus also reflects the different currents and rapid developments in European painting in the first half of the 20th century. His thematic preferences are landscapes and still lifes, which he creates in detailed plasticity and in harmoniously coordinated, intensely bright colors.
