Watercolour, nocturnal coastal landscape with man and boat, behind passe-partout and glass in a wooden frame, slight signs of age (among other things slightly creased at the edges), sheet section approx. 39 x 56 cm, with frame approx. 61.5 x 76.5 cm, 1941 student at the Art Academy in Königsberg with Alfred particles, 1946-50 studies at the HBK Weimar, influenced by Max Pechstein, Erich Heckel and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff, among others, from 1950 master student with Otto Herbig, then lecturer for color design and life drawing ibid., from 1954 worked as a freelance painter and graphic artist in his home town of Gersdorf, from 1960 lecturer at the technical school for applied arts in Schneeberg, 1999 Federal Cross of Merit 1st Class for his life's work and numerous other honors and prizes
