Lot 4051 limit € 1.800

Meissen manufactory, swords in underglaze blue, transverse sections, model by Walter Schott 1897, young lady in antique robes, throwing a golden ball, stepped round base, tree support with climbing ivy, polychrome painted, gold equipped, base, right arm and foliage restored in high quality, model no. Q 180, H approx. 28 cm, pommel swords, model from the original period around 1897 or subsequent years, the sculptor and painter Walter Schott (1861-1938) studied at the Art Academy in Berlin and worked as a professor from 1903 ibid. In addition to the Meissner manufactory, he also supplied figure models to KPM Berlin and Rosenthal, among others. In the present figure, Schott combines typical elements of Art Nouveau sculpture: the sensuous radiance of the female body, the flowing lines of the limbs and robe, and the delicate coloring with the light flesh tones.
