Colored woodcut in black, blue and yellow, titled Der Dunkeln Krug, still life with jug and oranges on the reverse of the frame, monogrammed and dated (19)17 in the print lower left, behind glass in the wooden frame (slightly rubbed), with an adhesive label on the reverse of the frame from the Lipsius & Tischer art dealership in Kiel, slight signs of age (including browning, marginal area slightly damaged), sheet cut-out approx. 44 x 55.5 cm, with frame approx. 49.5 x 61 cm, 1890-92 training at the trade school Hamburg, 1893-99 studied at the art academy in Karlsruhe with Robert Poetzelberger and Leopold von Kalckreuth, friendship with Emil Rudolf Weiß, Karl Hofer and Friedrich Mißfeldt, 1900-01 work in a Paris studio, 1904 exhibition in Vienna and participation in the big one Dresden art exhibition, 1906 guest at the 1st graphic exhibition of the artist group Brücke in Dresden together with Wassily Kandinsky, H.
