Oil/hardboard, verso titled “Figurengruppen im Wald” and inscribed, representation of a pair of lovers in an expressionist manner, signed lower left, in a black shadow gap frame, slight signs of age, approx. 69.5 x 43 cm, with frame approx. 77.5 x 50 cm , belongs to the so-called lost generation of expressive realists, 1939 exhibition in the Chemnitz Kunsthütte with Martha Schrag, Heinrich Brenner, Bruno Ziegler and Marianne Brandt, among others, freelance after 1945, close contact with the Chemnitz artist group, illustrated for the Reclam publishing house, among others, 1984 award with the Hans Grundig Medal
