Meissen manufactory, swords underglaze blue, 1st choice, designed by Martin Wiegand 1906-09, model no. 73568 (old Y 164), Pierrot furtively looking to the right with his hands in his pockets, the stars depicted on the costume, square plinth, painted in delicate colors, H approx. 34 cm, molding after 1948, the painter, sculptor and Modeller Martin Wiegand (1867 Ilmenau - 1961 Munich) studied at the Academy in Dresden, worked as a freelancer in Munich from 1888, maintained a studio with a kiln in Nymphenburg from 1910, worked for the Meissen manufactory from 1906-1909, the manufactory acquired around twelve genre figures and a succession of four centaur groups.
