Sketch sheet, pencil on paper, representation of various animals in costumes dancing, in addition to various faintly sketched figures as well as a handwritten list "To be drawn: ... Ladies' choice. Polonaise. A feared dancer...", reverse. Marked in lead "Fedor Flinzer", attached to cardboard behind passe-partout, signs of age (including creases, irregularly browned, remains of an old mounting), sheet approx. 33 x 21 cm, draughtsman, illustrator, animal painter and drawing teacher, studied from 1849 at the Dresden Academy with Ludwig Richter, Julius Schnorr von Carolsfeld and Ernst Julius Hähnel, among others, from 1859 active as a drawing teacher at the Chemnitz Realschule and co-initiator of the association "Kunsthütte" ibid., from 1873 as municipal drawing inspector, responsible for the curriculum and hiring drawing teachers for the City of Leipzig, 1876 publication of the "textbook(s) of drawing lessons", 1895 award of the title of professor, is considered the forerunner of the so-called "art education movement" around the turn of the century, known for its humanized, mostly harmless-humoristic, sometimes also satirical depictions of animals, Exhibitions of his illustrative work in Troisdorf (Picture Book Museum), Dresden (Museum for Saxon folk art nst), Reichenbach/Vogtland (Neuberin Museum), Bad Pyrmont (museum in the castle) and Bad Salzuflen (city and spa museum)
