Three-page private letter from a young soldier named Gotthilf from Königstein Fortress in Saxony to his parents, dated May 13 (18)65, the text of the letter includes the following passages: times are not the best at the fortress. I thought it was going to be a pretty good commando, but it's just the opposite. (...) The whole fortress is manned all around by mortars and cannons..., signs of age (including small damage to the edges of the sheet), but overall legible, format (opened) approx. 32 x 21 cm
