Large-format print in black on handmade paper, guardian angel, unique one-off print using pieces of end grain wood, overprinted several times using flat printing technique, signed and dated (19)95 below the image, framed in a passe-partout behind glass (min. dam.), sheet section approx. 120 x 73 cm, with frame approx. 144 x 98 cm. In the artistic work process, Hans Brockhage occasionally created unique prints in which existing or processed wooden panels were experimentally used for a graphic. These works of art, which were created more as a by-product of the creative process, were sometimes of great importance to Brockhage. By printing on oversized handmade paper, he was able to present the surface structures of his wooden artefacts in a new and different way, thus creating another artistic aspect with its own expressiveness
