Meissen, sword mark, 1st choice, model by Paul Scheurich 1936, model no. A 1268, on an oval base with a tree support, discreetly colored and decorated in gold, base with scratched artist signature, rarely shaped Scheurich figure, between 1937 and 1956 only 31 sales in the manufactory can be proven, height approx. 46.5 cm, shaping before 1948. Scheurich devoted himself only twice to soldierly themes (cf. cat. no. 4276). The cuirassier with his exaggeratedly stiff posture, the overly long collar and the pulled-up caterpillar helmet are intended to emphasize the affectation and the comical aspect of the depiction.
